Our good friends Cynthia and Cameron invited us to spend the day with them at Surfside Beach. Ethan decided to provide us with a car ride of different ranges of crying until we were about 15 minutes from the beach. Once we arrived there our moods greatly improved. It was a great day for the beach! Cynthia and Cameron brought their boogie boards we all took turns riding the waves. However, I think their skills were far superior! While Karthik's dad didn't boogie board, he did have fun swimming through the waves. Karthik's mom was content to stay on land. She and Ethan had fun just relaxing on the shore, though I think Ethan was a little too relaxed. We closed the day with some good ol' fashioned snow cones (YUM). I think Karthik's dad summed it up best when he said, "best day in America." After we went to the beach Karthik's mom made a great dinner for everyone. We had such a great time at Surfside Beach we made plans to go to South Padre Island.
As previously stated we were supposed to go to South Padre Island with some friends of ours Cynthia and Cameron. However, my work squashed that when they told me that I could not have off (boooooooo). We decided not to let the weekend go to waste and went to Brazos State Park instead. We started our adventure the best way possible by eating delicious gumbo made by Cameron. We spent the rest of the time talking and taking in the sights. As you can see we ran across a few alligators!
Last Monday I went I started to feel a little tickle in my throat. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a cold. I was trying to be as careful as possible and stay away from Ethan but he still managed to get sick. We noticed last night that he was coughing and his nose seems pretty clogged. I'm hoping it will pass quickly. Other than that he has been just as cute as he can be. He loves to smile and laugh. He wakes up pretty much every morning in a great mood. Daddy and Tata make all kinds of funny noises that make him scream with laughter. He alllllllllmost rolled over today. He got his top half turned around but couldn't quite figure out how to get the bottom half over.
We also went to a the Discovery Green Park. Here are some of the pictures from that day...
We sent off the documents for our visas yesterday. We also got a two bedroom apartment. It will be interesting to see if the apartment actually looks like the pictures that were sent us. Well that should do. I'll try to keep y'all better updated.
