What a Couple of Weeks!!

The last couple of weeks have been very chaotic! It all started with me getting sick with the flu. Of course with my luck, I got sick on Saturday so there was no daycare for Ethan. I felt bad bothering Karthik so I recruited some of my friends to take Ethan so I could spend Sunday under the covers shivering. Not only were they nice enough to take him, but they brought me Gatorade and Sprite...though for some reason they refused to come inside. ;) After about a week I was much better (minus a cough that won't seem to go away). Sadly, Ethan then decided he wanted to be a copy cat and get sick, though he chose to come down with a cold which turned into croup. As you can imagine Karthik and I were very, very scared about the way he was breathing and coughing. We decided it would be best if I slept in his room for a few days just to monitor him. It was during this time that I realized that nothing makes you feel more homesick than a sick baby. It was so heartbreaking to watch him cough until he was about to throw up. On the bright side, just like Mommy he is better now (minus a runny nose and slight cough). Karthik 2 days before his first big test of the semester decided he did not want to be left out and got sick. Unfortunately, he is still sick. He has a bad cough and is hoarse. We get a lot of looks when we go out. All of us still have our coughs so people try and keep their distance. Despite the fact the he was sick; he kicked butt on the Mini. He got all A's and one B. I'm so proud of him.

In the midst of everyone being sick, I did manage to go to Sari Sari Falls. When Philip and Lauren were here we tried to go there but were informed by the locals not to go because of the rain. I am so glad we listened to them! I know what they were talking about now. You have to cross the river which is up to your waist 3 times. Sari Sari has become one of my favorite places. I wish that we would have been able to go with Philip and Lauren. It was awesome. It was about a 45 minute hike to the fall. Once you got there you had to climb some very slippery rocks to get to the base of the fall. The spray coming off of it was unbelievable! I would have taken more pictures but I did not want to get the camera wet!

I brought Ethan’s old duck bathtub to a friend’s house thinking that Ethan and her son, Joshua would play in it. It turns out that I got half of it right. Joshua loved it! He was quacking with the duck and climbing in and out of the water! Ethan on the other hand….not so much. He really did not want anything to do with the duck. He did however; go back inside my friend’s house where he discovered Joshua’s half eaten waffle which he promptly ate the rest of.

LOL. Jack and I are here in the hotel lobby watching Ethan on the little car! He has gotten so big! We miss ya´ll. We are now going upstairs for OUR nap. Oh and congratulations to Karthik (again) for doing so well on his tests.

Thanks, I hope I can repeat the same in the coming mini. I am glad you both are having a great time. Seems like medical tourism will prosper more unless some policy changes are made in the US.

Karthik.
